Wonjae Lee, MD, MBA graduated in 2014 from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business Daytime MBA with a Health Sector Management Program Certificate in 2014. He will join the Boston Consulting Group this fall. Wonjae received an MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine and is a member of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Seoul National University Hospital and was particularly involved in cardiology department in his senior residency. During this period, he participated in basic science research projects under National Research Laboratory for Stem Cell Niche. He also volunteered at the Rafael Clinic, a free medical center designed to provide services to foreign migrant workers. Wonjae served in the Korean Army for three years as a medical officer. In his first year, he was selected to serve in the Joint Security Area, an extremely dangerous and sensitive area. After a year, he was deployed to the Armed Forces Daegu Hospital, where he became chief of internal medicine in April, 2011. He was also appointed a head of Radiation Emergency Medical Team in the hospital. He was discharged in April, 2012 as a captain. Wonjae is interested in cost-effectiveness of high-technology medical procedures; healthcare insurance system; sustainability of medical charities; innovative healthcare delivery.
