Description of Innovation

UE LifeSciences (UELS) develops mobile health innovations to enable early cancer detection for underserved populations. With strategic distribution partners, UELS is collaborating with both public and private healthcare providers in low and middle-income countries, to reach and benefit over a billion potential beneficiaries with limited access.

UELS’ flagship innovation - iBreastExam - is a painless, radiation-free breast health exam easily operable by community health workers. To date over 75,000 women have received a breast exam and over 100 breast cancer cases have been diagnosed, with the help of iBreastExam. The device is US FDA cleared, CE Marked and commercially available in a number of countries. In November 2017, GE Healthcare announced a landmark partnership to commercialize iBreastExam in more than 25 countries across Africa, South Asia, and South-East Asia.
