Community Health and Information Network (CHAIN) empowers and provides prevention and support services to vulnerable communities affected by HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and non-communicable diseases to make informed decisions on their health, social, and economic circumstances. CHAIN also promotes Health Literacy and patient Safety.
CHAIN is also the lead organization of the Uganda Alliance of Patient Organizations (UAPO), an Alliance that brings together patient organizations from different disease areas.
CHAIN accomplishes the following:
Advocates for increased awareness on substandard and Falsified medical products
Offers capacity building to community-based organizations
Supports vulnerable people in the community including; orphans and vulnerable children ( OVC) and their households, youth , women and most at-risk populations, and other vulnerable people in the community.
Promotes patient safety and health literacy in schools and communities
