MEET OUR INNOVATORS: Wysa

Wysa, which is headquartered in India, is an innovator in the digital and mental health sector. The organization, founded in 2015, leveraged the increased penetration of mobile phones to all segments of society, artificial intelligence and natural language processing technologies to develop a blended and intuitive chatbot. The chatbot provides 24/7 healthcare support for mental health patients. Wysa’s innovative business and operations model has enabled the organization to serve 1.5 million users to date with the anonymous (digital+human) platform for mental health support at scale. The company now serves about 2 million users in more than 30 countries. Experience the Wysa app here.

Wysa joined the IiH Cohort earlier this year. Then, as the Covid-19 pandemic spread like wildfire across the world, the organization recognized the psychological toll the disease was taking on everyone—the anxiety, the stress of social distancing, remote work, quarantines, and even financial concerns as individuals worry about their jobs and savings.

Further, burnout among frontline healthcare workers is emerging as a key risk as healthcare systems struggle to cope. In response, Wysa has created free tool packs for dealing with pandemic stress and anxiety. These can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/eRWWxE3 or downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bot.touchkin. To help health workers manage burnout, Wysa has opened access to all their digital premium content, which can be found here: https://wysa.io/healthcare.
