Operation ASHA: Sunil and Prakesh
Two new videos offer an important glimpse into how IPIHD/SEAD Innovator Operation ASHA treats tuberculosis (TB) in hard-to-reach populations across India and what the organization’s work means to people coping with the disease. The first video, “The Last Mile: Operation Asha’s Delivery Model” follows community health provider Sunil Sabetah as he works with patients in small, rural villages outside of Gwailor, a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Narayana Heart Hospital: Leaders in Global Innovation
If you follow the global health innovation space you have probably heard of Dr. Devi Shetty and the Narayana Health group of Hospitals (NH). Started in 2001 NH (an IPIHD innovator) now operates 26 health centers across India. Patients from around India and Southeast Asia arrive knowing they will receive affordable, high quality specialty care.

When Good Enough is Perfect
Yesterday, I attended the 1776 Challenge Festival Healthcare Day—an exciting celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation across the healthcare space featuring cutting edge start-ups, innovative units within healthcare systems, well-intentioned payers and government officials who seemed to be serious about changing for the good. Sure, healthcare’s full of problems, but the buzz in this room was different. Attendees were here to solve challenges together.

Failing Smart: New IPIHD Paper Offers Strategies
“You have to be fundamentally willing to fail,” said Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, the President of the Republic of Iceland in his opening remarks at a breakout session during the Clinton Global Initiative 2014, an annual meeting that attracts leaders, organizers, and innovators from around the world working to tackle a wide array of critical issues we face today. But the breakout session – “Can we fail faster, bigger and better for greater impact?”– was itself an illustration of the challenges behind talking about failure.
